ABOUT MTV SHUGA NAIJA 5 - STAYING ALIVE MTV Shuga is a multi-award-winning TV drama series that launched in Kenya in 2009, it integrates health messaging into storylines that reflect the lives and experiences of youth audiences. Since launching, MTV-SAF has gone ahead to film in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, and India. The drama has touched on numerous plotlines relating to Family planning & contraception, HIV and safe sex. The show is broadcast globally on 164 broadcasters in 73 countries.
MTV Shuga Naija season5 is on with key messaging focused on COVID-19 and promoting vaccine uptake, HIV/AIDS self-testing and prevention, female empowerment, modern contraception, and gender-based violence among young people.

TALENT ACCELERATION PROGRAM
The Talent Acceleration Program will invest in female-led companies and female creatives in the Nigerian film industry thus enhancing advancement towards “gender-aware” media, both through the creation of MTV Shuga Naija and through the strengthening of local capacity. Through the Talent Accelerator Program, the campaign will offer internship and mentorship programs for low and mid-level female creatives in different areas of production.
